How to reach us, what we can help with, and what belongs with your insurer instead.

Start here: who to ask

Most questions about an insurance policy belong with the firm that sold it, not with us. Sending one here only delays the answer, so this table is the fastest thing on the page.

If you want to Ask Why
Make a claim Your provider Your insurer, on the number in your policy schedule. Claims are urgent and we cannot pass one on.
Change, renew or cancel a policy Your provider The insurer or broker you bought from. We have no access to your policy and cannot amend it.
Ask what your policy covers Your provider The provider, which can explain its own wording. We are not permitted to interpret it for you.
Get a copy of your documents Your provider The provider issued them and holds them. We never receive a copy.
Complain about a price, a renewal or a claim Your provider The firm that sold you the policy, which has its own complaints procedure and must follow it.
Chase quotes you were expecting The quote panel The panel operator runs the quote system and knows which providers were approached. Ask us and we will tell you who to contact.
Report a problem, an error or a broken page on this site Us Us, and thank you. Tell us the page and what you saw.
Complain about how your enquiry was handled Us Us, under our complaints policy.
See, correct or delete the data we hold Us Us. We will respond within one month and it is free.
Stop marketing emails Us The unsubscribe link in any email, or us. Either works and neither needs a reason.

Why we cannot help with a policy

We are a comparison website. We introduce you to a quote panel, and if you buy, your contract is with the insurer or the broker. We are not a party to it, we hold no record of it, and we have no authority to change anything under it. That is not us passing you around: we genuinely do not have the policy. What we can do is put a fresh set of quotes in front of you, and the place to start a quote is the home page.

If you are not sure who your provider is

Look at the policy schedule or the email that confirmed the cover, which will name the insurer and, if you bought through one, the broker. If you cannot find it and you know roughly when you enquired here, ask us and we will tell you which firms your enquiry was passed to.

How to reach us

Email is the quickest route, and it gives us both a written record of what was asked.

General enquiries

info@landlordinsuranceuk.com

Complaints

complaints@landlordinsuranceuk.com, which goes to the same place as a complaint sent to the general address but gets logged as a complaint from the start.

Data protection requests

info@landlordinsuranceuk.com. Put "data protection" in the subject line if you can, so it is picked up as one rather than as a general query.

By post

Simply Quote Comparison Ltd, Sentinel House, Ancells Business Park, Harvest Crescent, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 2UZ.

By phone

01252 279395. Calls may be recorded for training and for keeping a record of what was said.

What to expect when you write

An acknowledgement, a named response, and no attempt to sell you anything.

How quickly we reply

We aim to answer a general enquiry within two working days. A complaint is acknowledged within 48 hours and answered in detail within 14 days, which is set out in full in our complaints policy. A data protection request gets a response within one month, which is the statutory deadline rather than our target.

What helps us answer faster

  • The page you were on, or the URL, if it is about the website.
  • Roughly when you submitted an enquiry, if it is about one.
  • The postcode of the property, which is usually enough to find a record without any other detail.
  • What outcome you are looking for, which saves a round of correspondence guessing at it.

What we will not do

We will not ask you for a bank detail, a card number or a password, by email or by any other means. We will not use a question you have asked as a reason to market to you. We will not pass your message to a provider unless you have asked us to.

Reporting a problem

If something on this site is wrong, broken or misleading, we would rather hear it from you than not.

An error in a guide

Tell us the page and what you think is wrong, with a source if you have one. We take corrections seriously: our editorial standards set out what we do when a page turns out to be wrong, including when and how we say so on the page itself.

Something that reads like advice

We are not permitted to advise or recommend, and we take care not to. If a page reads as though it is telling you what to buy or what to do, that is a mistake worth reporting, and it will be treated as one.

An accessibility problem

If any part of the site is hard to use with a screen reader, a keyboard, or at a larger text size, tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. It will be fixed rather than filed.

A scam using our name

If you are contacted by someone claiming to be Landlord Insurance UK and asking for a payment, a bank detail or a password, it is not us. Tell us, and report it to Action Fraud. Our about page explains how to check our registrations so you can confirm who you are dealing with.

Complaints

Tell us what went wrong and what you would like us to do about it. We acknowledge within 48 hours and respond in detail within 14 days.

About our part in it

Email complaints@landlordinsuranceuk.com, including what happened, when, and the page or the enquiry concerned. We are an Introducer Appointed Representative of Seopa Ltd, so where a complaint concerns the introduction itself, that firm may be involved in answering it, and we will tell you if it is.

About a policy or an insurer

Those go to the firm that sold you the policy, which has its own procedure it is required to follow. It will be in your policy documents under complaints.

Taking it further

If you are not satisfied with a final response, you may be able to refer the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, which is free to use. Whether it can consider a particular complaint is its decision rather than ours, and we will not tell you a route is closed to you.

Data protection

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. It is free and we respond within one month.

How to ask

Email info@landlordinsuranceuk.com and say what you want. You do not need to quote any law or use any particular wording. Telling us which enquiry it relates to, or the property postcode, helps us find the right record.

What you can ask for

A copy of your data, a correction, deletion, a restriction on how it is used, an objection to a particular use, or the withdrawal of consent to marketing. Our privacy policy sets out all eight rights, what each one means here, and the limits on them.

If you are not satisfied

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113, at any time and without asking us first. We would rather have the chance to put it right, but that is your choice and not a condition.

Business and press

The same address, with a line about what it is, and it will be passed on.

Media enquiries

Email info@landlordinsuranceuk.com with your deadline in the subject line. We will not comment on an individual customer or a named insurer.

Partnerships and providers

Providers join through the panel operator rather than through us, because the panel is operated by Seopa Ltd and it is not ours to add to. Anything else commercial can come to the general address.
